Journal Broadcast Group, Springfield Promotes Janelle Carter

Springfield, MO – Journal Broadcast Group – Springfield Operations today announced that Janelle Carter has been promoted to the position of general sales manager for all of the company’s stations in the market.  The stations include Power 96.5 KSPW FM, NewsTalk KSGF 104.1 FM & 1260 AM, Z106.7 KZRQ FM, and Today’s KTTS 94.7 FM. 

In making the announcement, Springfield Operations Vice President and General Manager Rex Hansen said, “Janelle has been part of our organization for seven years, and she has a proven track record of success, both as an account manager and as sales manager for our Power 96.5 – KSPW & Z106.7 - KZRQ sales team.  She is the perfect choice to lead our Springfield sales organization.  It’s a win for our company, our advertisers, and our listeners.” 

On accepting the promotion, Carter said, “My experience with the company thus far has been great and I’m excited about the opportunity to be more involved with all our stations.  I have a great deal of respect for all the staff, and the integrity and dedication to excellence are a big part of what makes this such an exciting opportunity. I look forward to working with everyone to help our customers achieve success.”

Carter graduated from Springfield’s Drury University in 2000, earning a bachelor’s degree in public relations and business administration.  She joined Journal Broadcast Group, Springfield Operations in 2001 as a KSPW account manager, and in only two years she achieved the status of top account manager.  In 2003, she was recognized as one of Journal Broadcast Group’s best with the company’s annual Excellence in Sales Award for her outstanding sales performance.  In 2004, she received Journal Broadcast Group’s Strategic Selling Award in recognition of her excellent marketing expertise and customer focus.  Carter was promoted to KSPW/KZRQ sales manager in 2005.
