MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Newsradio 620 WTMJ afternoon drive host Jonathan Green will lead the 16th annual Teddy Bear Patrol campaign, sponsored by Metropolitan Cadillac and State Farm Insurance. Since 1993, the Teddy Bear Patrol campaign has collected and distributed more than 68,000 new teddy bears to local law enforcement and fire officials. These officials give the bears to children who encounter crisis situations (abuse, neglect, fire, accidents, etc.) to help comfort them.
From March 24th –April 25th, donations of new teddy bears will be accepted at participating sponsor locations including Metropolitan Cadillac, 10221 W. Arthur Ave. in West Allis, and local State Farm Insurance agent offices in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties. A complete list of sponsor drop-off locations is available at www.620wtmj.com. New bears may also be dropped off at the WTMJ studio at 720 E. Capitol Drive in Milwaukee. Cash donations can be made by mailing a check for $10 to: WTMJ Teddy Bear Patrol, P.O. Box 620, Milwaukee, WI, 53201. All monies collected will be used to purchase new bears to support the Teddy Bear Patrol.
In addition to the public donations, more than 50 schools throughout Southeastern Wisconsin have registered to hold teddy bear collection campaigns to support the Teddy Bear Patrol. To register your school for the Teddy Bear Patrol, contact 620 WTMJ at (414) 967-5544.
