Las Vegas Personality Molly Sullivan to Host New 7 p.m. Show This Fall on KTNV

Las Vegas — Molly Sullivan has been named host of a new local television program, COOL IN VEGAS.  The half-hour program premieres in mid September, airing Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. on KTNV-TV. Jim Prather, executive vice president and general manager of KTNV-TV Las Vegas, made the announcement today.

“COOL IN VEGAS is an extension of our mission as a television station, which is to make Las Vegas a better place to live,” Prather said. “It’s the people, the businesses and the entertainment venues that make Southern Nevada a special place. We will showcase those people who have built businesses and careers in Las Vegas, residents and tourists who enjoy the life and lifestyle, and those talented and hard-working people who do an exemplary job providing a great value and great experience for families and customers all over the valley. This show is all about what’s cool, in the coolest city in America.”

Hosting COOL IN VEGAS will be Molly Sullivan, the Las Vegas-based host and sports reporter for Mountain West Sports Network (known as The Mtn.). She grew up in Southern Nevada and has worked here in various media jobs since graduating from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  “As a product of this community, it’s an honor to showcase why it’s cool to live, work and play in Las Vegas,” Sullivan said. “In our city, sports, entertainment and business are all intertwined. I’m very excited about my new team and the opportunity to work alongside a seasoned crew of professionals.”

In addition to hosting COOL IN VEGAS, Sullivan will continue her career in sports broadcasting, which includes working as a sideline reporter for college football and basketball games around the Mountain West Conference.

Many of the segments featured on COOL IN VEGAS each day will be sponsored by local advertisers. “Sponsors will have the opportunity to be featured in video postcards,” Prather explained. “These segments will be shot on location at the advertiser’s business, giving them a chance to tell their story, in their own words. This will be a unique advertising opportunity for people who want more than a commercial and a unique viewing opportunity for people who want to know more about Las Vegas.”

Produced in High Definition (HD), COOL IN VEGAS premieres Monday, September 13, 2010.  In addition to broadcasting the program, KTNV-TV will make segments from the show available online, creating an entirely new digital opportunity for advertisers and consumers to connect.

KTNV is owned by Journal Broadcast Group.
