Palm Springs, Calif. — NBC-affiliate KMIR6 is celebrating its Emmy victory. The station won six Emmy Awards handed out by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter, in the following categories:

The 2010 Emmy Awards ceremony was held on June 26 at the Hard Rock Café in San Diego. KMIR6 competed against stations in markets including Las Vegas, San Diego, Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara.
“I think our news team’s record speaks for itself. This is a sensational way to top off a tremendous year of positive change for our station,” said Vice President and General Manager Lyle Schulze.
Last year the station received four Emmy Awards, including Sports Editor and Historic/Cultural - Single Story or Series.
KMIR6 (KMIR-TV), along with the local My Network TV Affiliate for the Palm Springs market KPSE My13, are owned by Journal Broadcast Group.
