Last year the station also won for Best Newscast for “Wisconsin’s Morning News,” in addition to two other categories.
“This is obviously a testament to our hard work and excellent staff here,” said News Director Jon Byman, who also credited the TODAY’S TMJ4 (WTMJ-TV) staff featured in some of the winning entries.
The entries competed against other large market stations from Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota and will go on to compete in a national competition against the winners from 12 other regions.
The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has honored outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Recipients must demonstrate the journalistic excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the electronic news profession.
