Milwaukee, Wis. – TODAY’S TMJ4 (WTMJ-TV) has received six top awards from the Milwaukee Press Club for the Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism Competition. The NBC affiliate received first place honors in the following categories:
Broadcast Journalist of the Year: Mike Jacobs
Best Newscast: TODAY’S TMJ4
Best Coverage of Breaking News Story: Lauren Leamanczyk/Rebecca Cantrell (“Cops Shot”)
Best Investigative Report or Series: Aaron Diamant/Paul Marble (“On the Road with MPS”)
Best Television Sports Story: Jessie Garcia, Joe Eufemi, Rick Rietbrock (“A Day in the Life of Mike McCarthy”)
Best Single Story Production: John Mercure, Ira Klusendorf, Maureen Mack, Paul Balistreri (“City Smokers”).
The awards will be presented at the Press Club’s annual Gridiron Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the InterContinental Hotel Milwaukee.
