Omaha, NE. – Action 3 News and Z-92 are teaming up with The Salvation Army and Baker’s to provide box fans to families in need this summer.
“The Action 3 News/Z-92 Fan Drive” will be held Thursday, July 12, from 10:00am to 7:00pm. Viewers and listeners are encouraged to bring new fans (still in the boxes) to Baker’s at 120th and Center in Omaha. Various on-air personalities from Action 3 News will be on hand to meet and greet those who stop by, and Z-92 will have live broadcasts throughout the event.
At the end of the day, all the fans will be given to The Salvation Army, who will make sure they get to local families in need.
“We’re really excited about taking action to help those in need in the community,” said Ken Dudzik, News Director for Action 3 News. “This is a great cause and having partners like Z-92, The Salvation Army and Baker’s will help make this event a big success.”
“This is another terrific example of the kind of local community service Journal Broadcast Group can provide by combining the efforts of our television and radio stations,” added Steve Wexler, Executive Vice-President of Television and Radio Operations for Journal Broadcast Group.
This is the second “Taking Action” event in less than 2 months for Action 3 News. The first was “Shred-It Saturday,” when the station offered free document shredding for Omaha area residents. Approximately 500 people turned out for the 3-hour event, and nearly 9 tons of papers were shredded.
